Couple of things - First, we are well into our Book of the Month, and it’s Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway. Click for details.

Second, our Book for Next Month is Go Pro, by Eric Worre. Get it here.

It’s a must read, and read again, and teach your team kind of book.

I will have the rest of the books for the year out shortly. Just trying to track down and confirm some that I want to use and to make sure they still fit.

Your Direct Sales Marketing Plan

It’s called Network and Marketing, and Direct Sales for a reason.

Network - that is your working inventory. Your list of potential candidates for your network marketing business. Finding people to talk to about your business and products.

Then, there is Work - part of the word, because it does take work.

And, then there is Marketing - opening your mouth and getting the word out about your business.

The definition of marketing is - According to Mashable, Marketing is the way companies interact with consumers to create relationships that are beneficial to both parties.

Advertising is a form of marketing communication used to promote or sell something, usually a business's product or service.

So, what is your marketing plan for your Network Marketing business?

I spent time looking back at my planner from last year and seeing what worked and what didn’t, and that allowed me to figure out a focus for this next year.

4 ways to find contacts -

Warm Market Contact List - many people object to this, and that’s crazy.

Offline Networking

Buying Leads

Mall Walking - or lifestyle marketing.

Today, we also have social media which is a bit of a mix of all of these.

Now, your goal is to expand outside of your center of influence as quickly as possible, and you can do that by making that contact list, and then reaching out and saying -

I’m excited about a new venture, and it’s probably not for you, and I get that. However, you know some people who this might be perfect for so I would just love to share it with you to see if you know anyone for whom it might be a fit.

You can’t build the successful business you want on the back of your friends and family, only. You need a network beyond that and each person you know easily has 250 people right off the top of their head that they could put on a list and potentially contact, or introduce you to.

Ask for referrals, Take the awkwardness out of the situation by leading with this.

Getting out into the community you live in is a great way to quickly expand your network. Lead with your product first, in this environment, though.

Some things to determine in your Direct Sales Marketing Plan -

Make your contact list.

Go through your Social Media contact list.

What opportunities are there for you offline, locally?

Marketing budget - how much do you have and will you invest in your business to market it?

Time budget - be realistic as to what you will commit to. For me, I’m not going to drive 30 minutes once a week for a networking event. But, I am committed to networking events, I just need to find the right ones.

Commitment - how committed will you be to whatever steps you take to expand your marketing?

When you get involved in an offline networking group, you MUST get involved and get consistent. Joining is not enough, just like your business.

What I say in my elevator pitch -

Hi, I’m Jackie Ulmer with FunFabLashes.com and I create fun, and confidence with my 3D Mascara, taking your lashes from zero to hero. Come check out my eyes to see the difference. Also, ladies, if you are tired of your lip color falling off into your breakfast, our lip stains will blow you away! Jackie Ulmer, FunFabLashes.com

It’s not uncommon for me to get mobbed when the meeting is over, by the women, and the men who want to buy for their wives, girlfriends, and I sell product at almost every event!

So, write down what you would say and then look at it - is it over hyped at all? Is it too salesy? How will it be perceived by those who might be a fit for it?

Then, get committed to developing your business skills. Starting with your communication skills, and then connecting with others, and networking with others.
