Building without upline support

 

People who are motivated and get the vision are going to build the business with or without upline support. Your job as the sponsor is to get people started RIGHT, with a proven roadmap for success.

Beyond that, you can’t do it for them, and you can’t determine when they are going to decide that this is a priority for them.

 

What did your upline do that made you decide you wanted to build a successful business? To be a leader?

 

Everyone who is serious can find/make time in a day to reach out to new contacts each day. These days, with technology, it takes no more than 10-15 minutes to contact 10-15 new people each day.

 

Follow up with those who want to know more - if you are using tools, this won’t take long either - point them to a tool.

 

We do two things in Network Marketing -

 

Share the products and create customers.

 

Share the business and sponsor those who want to build a business.

 

New people don’t need to know all of the details of the compensation plan, or everything about the back office. 

 

Give them way to have immediate success and earn a check.

 

Motivate and inspire yourself, and stay out in front as the leader.

 

Find out a new person’s dream -what do they want from the business?

 

Find out their commitment to it. Get that commitment from them and you’ll know quickly how serious they are.

 

Busy people are the ones who get things done.

 

Help them layout an action plan of steps they will take in the first 24 hours, the first 72 hours, first week, first 30 days and first 90 days.

 

We don’t bug, harass or chase people. Those who are going to do it will do it with or without you.

 

People are not different - My video on this!

 

You are looking for the people who want things similar to what you want and they are there, in every country and every city and town.

 

You can’t do it right to the wrong people or wrong to the right people!

 

As far as getting inactive people started - that saying - It’s easier to give birth than raise the dead is so true.

 

 

Get them started right, stay committed and work with the ones who WANT it, and not the ones just talking about it.

Words That Hold You Back in Network Marketing Business

 

The words we speak are powerful, and you want to pay attention to what you put out there. What we speak becomes our reality.

 

Do you share things like -

 

I am a cancer survivor. I am a victim of child abuse. Or any other qualifiers that set others up to view you in a certain way. I’m certainly not making light of those who have suffered and conquered these things. I just caution you to not keep that as part of “who” you are in the present. Let the past go.

 

Today, I want to focus on the words - I Can’t.

 

As I always say - you can’t or you won’t?

 

Because there is a huge difference.

 

If anyone can do it, so can you? Or in reverse, why could you NOT do it if anyone else can?

 

I saw a sign the other say - Attitude is a Tattoo.

 

When you have a negative attitude or energy surrounding you when you begin to work your business. Stop. Take a step back and shift your attitude.

 

We give off vibrations and you will get back what you give off.

 

Most often when we say we can’t, it’s not really that we can’t. It’s a form of self doubt and lack of belief and a way we let ourselves off the hook.

 

MAC

 

M- Mindset

A - Action

C- Consistency

 

Take at look at these three words and ask yourself - who controls all three of these?

 

When your results aren’t what you want, take a look back at your actions and see what’s there. Are you taking ongoing income producing actions in your business? Are you doing this consistently?

 

And, are you controlling your thoughts, beliefs and mindset?

I’m Not an Expert and I’m Not Sure What to Say on My Blog


Who says we need to be an expert? When we talk to people offline, we are not an expert. And, maybe that is what stumps people?

 

Expert is only about knowing just a little more.

 

We all have gifts, talents and a story to share that will attract others. You have a brand and it is your voice and your story.

 

Be authentic, don’t try to be anyone else. Be the best “You” that you can be.

 

Share your story, share how you are building. Share your excitement, your vision.

 

Be exactly WHO you would be offline. It’s no different online, these are real people at the end of every connection you make online.

 

Others are looking for a way to get out of the corporate world.

 

Give them hope that they can do this, even part time, while working a career. That’s about 90% of the population.

 

Share your challenges, flaws and successes. You can find my struggles all over my blog and where I have shared my story. My struggles of worrying too much about what others think, and so on.

 

Even though you will be writing to your target audience, you will attract a broader audience who can relate to much of what they are sharing.

How Fear is Stopping You From Network Marketing Success and How to Overcome it


Fear is natural. Especially for most when it comes to a network marketing business.

 

The mind can not focus on more than 1 thing at a time. Try it out. Try to think of two things at once. You can’t.

 

You can focus on Lack - what you have not achieved yet in your Direct Sales business.

 

Or, you can focus on abundance and gratitude - what you DO have already in your life.

 

Fear diverts your attention to something that does not serve you.

 

Here is a quick short cut - when you feel fear, and are aware of it. Stop, acknowledge that fear and then immediately focus on one thing you are extremely grateful for. Allow that feeling to overtake your whole body and sense of being.

 

Notice the feeling of calm that comes over you. Powerful, isn’t it?

 

Do this every time you feel anxiety, fear, or worry.

 

Practice this affirmation -

 

When I focus on what I want, and I do so with gratitude, all good things come my way.

 

Focus on what you want as much as possible.

 

What do you want?

 

Why do you want it?

 

Where do you feel stuck?

 

Why?

 

How do you want to feel?

 

Focus THERE on how you want toffee and repeat the affirmation -

When I focus on what I want, and I do so with gratitude, all good things come my way.

 

Take 3 deep breaths and feel the calmness settle in.

 

Repeat the affirmation 3 times loudly, 3 times normal, 3 times whispering, and 3 times just moving your lips.

 

Affirmation - When I focus on what I want, and I do so with gratitude, all good things come my way.

 

The unknown is often scary. We feel unsure. We doubt ourselves.

 

Confusion is the last stop on the train to clarity.

 

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

 

Get vibrationally sound and in the feel good place before you call prospects.

 

Think of what this business allows you to do -

 

Share wonderful products.

 

Share your story.

 

Share your passion.

 

Share a wonderful business with huge potential.

 

Step out of something limiting.

 

Over 90% of thoughts are negative. Change your thoughts, change your life!

 

Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow rich talks about the BURNING desire. This is critical. Wishing and hoping won’t make it happen. You know that already, right?

Friends, Followers, Likes, Shares and Engagement on Social Media to Increase Warm Market

 

This is really pretty simple. It’s a process, and you have to get out and market your business.

 

On Social Media, we do the same, and the best way to get engagement is to BE engaging first.

 

Develop a strategy and a plan. You must know what to do and when to do it on a daily/weekly basis to be successful. Write things down. Use a daytime and reminders so you stay current with what to do when.

 

This will get you into a flow of your daily routine. So, you need your social media time incorporated into your day.

 

You must be out there engaging with the people you want to attract.

 

Understand the Facebook algorithms and how they work. You can see up to 300 pieces of content in your newsfeed at a time. You can force more by getting out of your newsfeed, but never assume people are aware of what you are doing because you’ve posted it on Facebook.

 

Sort your friends into lists and check in regularly so you know what your groups are doing on a regular basis. This keeps Facebook feeding you good content ongoing.

 

You’ve got to practice the 80/20 rule - Social, Fun and Engaging 80% of the time, and business only 20% of the time.

 

People are not on Facebook to be sold, but they will buy when it is done right!

 

As you engage with others, you will show up more in their newsfeed, too.

 

Twitter and Instagram run on Hashtags, so you want to understand what hashtags your target audience is looking for and be researching and engaging with people using those same hashtags.

 

Create a relationship with people, which is called creating new warm market, and some will become interested in your business over time.

Balancing Your Brand and Your Company

 

My story is an example of why you want to brand yourself FIRST, and company second.

 

I have two domains - StreetSmartWealth.com and JackieUlmer.com and I’m going to share why I have both and my thoughts around it.

 

I also have been with several companies since I started online, and different types of companies. Telecom, Nutrition, Candles - and as you can imagine, these all have different target audiences, as well as keywords and ways to market.

 

Well, as my story shares, people change, companies change, comp plans change and we do make changes to our companies some times.

 

For me, my interests and passions drive my interests a lot of times, and if I’m going to build a business,s it has to be FUN and something I enjoy.

 

So, bottom line - build your own brand FIRST, and weave information about your company into your marketing strategy and your content strategy.

 

Share generic information that shows you as a leader, and then weave in some stories and content around your company. Just make sure they work together to make sense to your audience.

 

Build out your About Me page in a strong way and solidify yourself as an expert and someone worthy of following and then your company information will naturally find a fit with your audience.

Network Marketing Facts and Endorsements

 

Only a small percentage of people ever achieve financial security, even in retirement.

 

Network Marketing offers a Plan B and more and more people are looking for one.

 

Gen Y, and others are skeptical of the “old rules” - go to school, get a good job and be loyal.

 

But, that Plan B MUST be simple.

 

Amazing how the tools of technology can make it SO much easier.

 

As I shared in Show 165, I can easily reach out to about 10 people in about 10 minutes and get my business in front of people through a quick informative video that tells enough to get the prospect to say YES, or no!

 

Our objective is both customers and Team Partners. Develop a solid customer base and keep in touch. Share new items and do good follow up.

 

We are a commission based business, much like real estate. This Blog Post on Similarities between Real Estate and Network Marketing - Commission Based Sales details some of this.

Skills to develop 

 

Confidence - overcome mindset challenges, doubts and fears. ACTION is the one thing that will develop your confidence if you are lacking.

 

Here are some quick tips on Mindset

Develop some assertiveness, mostly with YOURSELF. Get the job done, take action and have the mindset to overcome challenges and obstacles.

 

Some will say no, who you were really counting on. Some will say yes and then do nothing. Some will say yes and then move on!

 

Oh well,, it’s part of life and the business.

 

Technology makes it so much easier to reach out to people.

 

Follow up is one of the biggest challenges we face.

Facebook Messenger for Effective Prospect Inviting

 

One of the biggest challenges faced by network marketers is THE PHONE! That 10 ton gorilla that stares at us; glares at us, and totally freaks us out.

 

We can easily use it for all kinds of other things, and we are friends with it most of the time.

 

But, look at it with the thought of calling someone about our business and HOLY SMOKES - no way.

 

 

So, we now know that texting can be an easy way to reach out to people. It takes the pressure off of the awkward pauses and word stumbling.

 

Facebook Messenger is another great tool for this, and I like to use the talk feature so they can HEAR my voice, and the light tone.

 

This gets interests almost immediately as it is fairly new to most people.

 

The key is to keep it short, use GOOD success language, and don’t say too much. Use “If I, Would You?”

 

Once they say yes, send them a short link or video to explain your business.

What's Stopping You From Taking Your Network Marketing Business Online

 

We get so excited by the thought of sponsoring online. Of building a team outside of our warm market, our city or town, and even our state and country.

 

Yes, a global business run online sounds awesome, doesn't it?

 

So, what's stopping you?

 

I think I know the 3 main things, because they held me back too.

 

1. Confidence - or that feeling of - who's going to listen to me? What do I have to offer? I'm not an expert.

 

Great news, you don't need to be. You have a story to share and an audience waiting to hear it. We all do. We all have things about our journey that others can and will relate to. The beauty of the internet is that as we build a brand and an online presence, we target a specific audience of our people!

 

 

2. Technology! This is a BIG one because we think of web site design and wordpress installation as a foreign language. But, it doesn't need to be. I did it, and you can too!

3. Content - what will I write about! This is EASY. Start with your day to day business building steps. What do you do each day to grow your business? Share you journey, the good and the bad. People will relate to it and it helps keep you accountable.

 

Beyond that, what are you readin? What events have you attended? What notes do you have piled in a drawer from past events? This is a gold mine of content that will begin to put you out there as a sought after authority.

 

So there, you have it! No reason not to get out there NOW!
