It's been a crazy time around here as I shipped my son off to the United States Marine Corps Bootcamp training. He's a new recruit, and I've been through a whirlwind of emotions over it. 

I'm proud, I'm anxious, and lots of different things. 

So, I decided to do my own bootcamp for myself and my team, and we are going to focus on Mindset, and the mastery of that. 

I thought it might be fun for you to play along so over the next 13 weeks, I'll be sharing information that I have learned and succeeded with from a variety of sources, including - 

The Science of Getting Rich - Wallace Wattles Think and Grow Rich - Napolean Hill The Strangest Secret - Earl Nightingale 

And others! 

The first sentence is - 

Whatever may be said in praise of poverty, the fact remains that it is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich. 

Now, the use of the word RICH puts some people off. 

I like to use the word wealth, and I also belief that wealth, or richness makes you MORE of who you already are! 

Instead of focusing on HOW - how do you do this in network marketing, how to you say this? HOw do you attract leads, and so on, we are going to focus first on BE. 

Who do you want to BEcome through your business. 

Step number one is to write out who you want to become. 

Here is my written statement around this, that I shared with my team. 

I'm going to get BOLD, but stay with me!  

And I'm going to use I Am, and state it in the positive, and present tense. 

I am a wealthy woman, and an inspirer of wealth. 

And by wealth, I mean much more than money.  

First, I am wealthy in my spirituality, because it is my belief that this opens the gateway to all other wealth. So I practice this daily. 

I am wealthy in relationships, and strive to be generous in every sense of the word with those I connect with. 

I am wealthy with education and knowledge and love learning, growing and then sharing that with those who also want that knowledge.  

I am wealthy in health and my physical body. I am mindful of practicing healthy living.  

I am wealthy in my business dealings, attracting the exact right people to my business, so that we grow and prosper together.  

I am wealthy in my ability to give to those people, causes and missions that speak to me and benefit from my wealth in other areas.  

I am wealthy in my recreation time, and have plenty of time and resources to enjoy all the fun and joy that life offers.  

I am wealthy in my possessions, having enough to live comfortably and enjoy life. I'm not a "stuff" kind of person, but I like a nice house, and furnishings, and a creature comfort car! An occasional nice piece of jewelry is good, but I'm not a big jewelry gal. 

I am wealthy in my enjoyment of being pampered - massage, spa, mani-pedis and personal care (I do love that stuff.)  

I am extremely wealthy in my ability to travel, as that is my biggest hot button. I have often said I would live in a tent if I had to so I could travel. And, I'll be honest, I like to travel well and enjoy first class and great food! 

I am wealthy in my ability to do random acts of kindness, paying it forward for people from coffee and meals, to helping out with a car or house payment when needed and I love doing this anonymously.  

Finally, I am wealthy in my bank account, which helps allow me to be wealthy in many of these other areas. 

The best part is that by focusing on other types of wealth, the financial side always takes care of itself.  

I recite this to myself each day, morning and night! 

In the Science of Getting Rich, Wallace Wattles states - Your #1 goal is to become rich. A person's right to life means his right to have the free and unrestricted use of all the things which may be necessary to his fullest mental, spiritual and physical unfoldment; or in other words, his right to be rich. 

Let go of limiting beliefs, and the baggage from the past. They don't serve you. 

Spend 30 minutes focused on a goal - ONE goal. Write it down on a 3 x 5 index card. Read it. Feel it., savor it. Experience it. 

Bring up the emotion of joy when you think of it. See yourself already having accomplished the goal and not stuck on looking up the mountain and wondering how you are going to get there. 

The HOW will show up. It did for me. 

And, for me, it was the internet. It was the download that God delivered to me when I let my creative mind go to work on BEING who and HAVING what I wanted and felt worthy of. 

I went to an internet seminar in October of 1999, even though I didn't want to and it changed my life. 

I launched the website, created the lead capture, and started writing articles and creating content. 

And the leads and team partners came to me. They showed up.

Focus on who you want to be. Write it down. Read it, Feel it and allow it to trigger the how.

Great Customer Service and Being Remarkable in Direct Sales 

Have you paid attention to what is going on in the World of Network Marketing with companies such as Vemma and Herbalife? 

Nothing against those companies, but the FTC has been scrutinizing companies more closely, and specifically the number of customers vs business builders - those who are part of the compensation plan. 

So, you want to pay attention and make sure you have a solid number of regular retail customers, as well as those who are specifically building the business. 

A great way to develop that customer base is with your Hot Market - those closest to you who will try the product, and become a regular user, and share a testimonial. 

And, if they don’t like it, you assure them you won’t bug them again. 

You can either have them buy and try, or give a sample, but often, samples are not enough to really provide a good showing of how it works, or its effectiveness. 

Then, set up a solid customer care program. 

Send a thank you card - yes, a hand written card. Send birthday cards, and Thanksgiving cards. 

Don’t bog your well intended message with something promotional about your business. Send a follow up postcard later, for instance, to offer a discount in their birthday month. 

Have a new product release? Your customer base is the best place to start to share these new products with a sample. Always best to start with those who already love your products. 

If your company offers samples, that’s great, and if they don’t get creative in making your own. Go to craft stores to get zip lock bags and screw top sample containers.  

When you provide great customer value and service, you won’t find it hard to get referrals and repeat orders!

Facebook Ads, Facebook Live and Your Facebook Business Page 

Listen in as a recap from a previous Periscope Live where I get into discussing how to create an ad or boosting a video that you have created by going Live on Facebook. 

Now, here is what I have learned since I recorded. Boosting a post can be a great way to more exposure and a fast way to create engagement. 

There are different types of ads on Facebook, and you want to spend some time studying and getting to know what they are, what their intended results are, and how it all works. 

For about $1 a day, you can create some fast exposure for your business if you are willing to be consistent. 

You want to spend some time educating yourself on Facebook Ads. Buy a course, or a book and at very least check out some current YouTube videos on the process. 

Create an ad, set a budget to test with and monitor it over the first 24-48 hours to see how it is performing. 

Have a call to action - CTA. 

Begin to find your own algorithm and see what is going to work for you. 

The key, like anything, is to stay consistent so you can track and see the growth. 

Those who get to the top get there because they stay consistent. It’s most often nothing else. 

Your skill set will develop if you are willing to put the time and work into it. 

Facebook has a plan to rule the world. 

And you have the chance to capitalize on first mover advantage by getting your name and your brand out there early in the game.

Four Skills to Create a SLAM Dunk in Your Direct Sales Business 

Success in Network Marketing involves simple skills that can be learned. 

I call it a Slam Dunk in your network marketing business. And that stand for Scheduling, Language, Attitude and Marketing. 

S - Scheduling. What’s on the calendar gets done. It just does. IF you want to know how you are doing in your business, a good place to start to see what actions you’ve been taking are to look at your calendar. 

We come in with an employee mindset and so taking charge of our calendar can be a challenge. 

What’s slotted in there on your calendar? How many new contacts did you make? Appointments did you complete? Follow ups? 

L - Language - what you say DOES make a difference. Use good success language. Don’t be salesy. Know your words and language for every step of the way. Never leave it to chance. And, practice drill and rehearse, too. Record yourself and then throw it away. But do this over and over so you can listen to how it sounds, and how it comes across. This will teach you so much! 

A - Attitude. We can only control a few things in our business and one of the most important is our attitude. We don’t control who takes the time to view our business, try our products, join our team or actually work the business. But, we can control our action steps and the attitude we have around the whole process. 

Visual Reminders, Morning Routine, Affirmations - these are all key pieces to keeping our attitude in check. Have you heard my story about my daughter’s hair holder and how I used it to snap my wrist and snap me into positivity? IT works. Listen and hear! 

What are those things that will give you the positive reinforcement that you need? Put them into place. Find what fits for you. Maybe it’s sticky notes. 

M - Marketing. When people say they have no one to talk to, it’s because they don’t know marketing. 

We have offline and online methods of team building. Offline, people are everywhere and as long as you know how to build rapport, and then what to say, you’ll be great. 

Active and Passive is what we do online. 

Passive marketing is like this - the podcast, blog posts, periscope, Facebook live and so on. 

Active marketing is that direct contact we make with others. 

People are everywhere, online and offline. 

THAT is the Slam Dunk in your business. Incorporate it each day and watch your business grow.
