I don't want to quit, and I don't want to blow it with my Warm Market in my Direct Sales business.

I'm New at network marketing.  I'm having a little bit of trouble getting started- I don't want to blow all of my warm leads, so I have hardly mentioned the opportunity to any of my friends or family or coworkers.

 

 

I know if I could just get over that hurdle and start talking to a couple people a day, I would do just fine.  I just don't want to give up because this is such a great opportunity, I feel that when I quit training and actually start talking to prospects, I will be more comfortable.   

 

I need a kick-start!

 

 

Seems like it may be easier to approach strangers at first, rather than friends and family.  Any advice will be appreciated!  Thanks and have a great day!

Listen in as I share 8 tips for success!

 

 

First, let's start with intent. WHY are you contacting these people and why do you want to share it? Intent is everything, and when you know why; can detach from the outcome and not look at anyone as if they have a dollar sign stamped on their forehead.

 

Share your product or service story, and add in the opportunity side, without hype.

 

Whatever you do, don't leave out the business side, but perhaps open with the product. And, even use a third party approach.

 

Share that you would love their help as a customer and share the cost, how to get them enrolled in a customer situation, or do it yourself for them, and be ready to follow up a week after they try the product.

 

Use good Success Language - make your list and edit your list, into categories, because you will approach people differently.

Ever Feel Challenged in Your Network Marketing Business

 

Most of us face these feelings at some time. Early on, or as we get things going, and even when we reach the top!

 

Here are some questions to ask yourself when you feel challenged:

 

What is the challenge?

 

Is this something I just need to take action on?

 

Is this a challenge that I need clarity around to find the answer?

 

Is this something I need a mindset shift around, or an attitude adjustment?

 

I encourage you to “go deep within” and be honest with yourself when you answer these questions. The thing is - we all know most of the answers already. We may not be ready to hear or face the answers, but we know them.

 

Another set of questions you can ask yourself is -

 

WHAT is the challenge?

 

WHAT is the obstacle? (Is it YOU, perhaps?)

 

WHAT resources do I have available to me to assist me in solving this challenge?

 

Let’s say you are having a challenge making contacts; picking up the phone, texting or whatever - you are not making this happen.

 

You know the challenge - it it just something you need to take action on? TO just DO it?

 

Do you need clarity around it; to understand what to say and the steps to take someone through?

 

Or, do you need a midget shift?

 

And, it could be one or more of these.

 

Another positive step you can take is to set your phone to remind you regularly through out the day to think positive; to visualize; to make calls, or whatever?

 

Give this a try, just by setting your phone alarm and see what happens!

30 Years and Miles Traveled in Direct Sales

 

It was such fun to interview Louise Umeki and get her thoughts on Direct Sales and what has happened over 30 years, for her and with the profession.

 

We talk a little about her unusual start, winning the starter kit at a Director’s meeting! 

 

Learn about her struggles with upline, leadership, changing companies and her passion for assisting others in being successful.

 

Louise, like many, started her business as a struggling single mom, with low self confidence and no sales experience at all. But, through sheer determination, she stuck with it and found success and developed solid leadership and training skills along the way.

 

She didn’t like approaching strangers randomly (sound familiar?) once she went through her warm market so she found creative ways to attract people to her.

 

And, we talk about how the internet has changed things!

Creative thinking is really what this show is all about.

 

Finding new and better ways to do things. Creative thinking kicked in for me in October 1999, when I started exploring the internet as a tool to find targeted prospects for my business.

 

While I was clueless, I decided to master this process and master it.

 

I started asking - How can I find more ways to find people for my business?

 

 

Step 1 - believe that what you are looking to accomplish can be done. Vision and Mindset rule - if you don't believe it, it won't happen for you.

 

It's a harsh but true reality.

 

 

Belief in something sets the mind in motion to find a solution.

 

 

Have you ever thought, dreamed or visualized about something and had ideas pop into your mind?

 

 

Most of us do, but we disregard these thoughts because our negative self talk kicks in, telling us - no - don't go there.

 

 

The key to success is to begin to act on those prompts that your mind is giving you.

 

 

Remove the word - IMPOSSIBLE - from your vocabulary.

 

 

How many people thought putting a man on the moon was impossible 200 year ago? Or 100?

 

Start by changing the questions you ask yourself.

 

I asked - how can I find more people for my business?

 

Things showed up for me, like the internet!

 

Instead of listening to everyone else who told me I was crazy, I acted on it.

 

Start a journal of ideas. Every morning, get up and write down 10 ideas in a journal. Don't overthink it.

 

Some you'll never act on, and some you will.

 

Watch for patterns of the same ones showing up. Read through them and determine what resonates with you.

 

 

Then, brainstorm out that idea and make it grow.

 

Ask - how can I make this idea a reality?

 

Develop a morning routine and be consisten with it.

 

 


I used to start with checking email, but I have learned to let that go and to focus, instead, on setting my day out right by focusing on mindset. It's my #1 asset in life and business.

Questions come up all of the time about how to sponsor people on facebook. Whether it's people you know or new people you meet, there is very often a large number of people who might be right for your business and your products.

 

Set a daily goal of new number of people to reach out to each day. And, do just that. Reach out. Engage, comment, get to know, look at their profile and develop a relationship before you ever mention your business.

 

If you are doing facebook right with your status updates - sharing a sound mix of personal and business, you may attract them naturally. 

 

Be sure to do a self evaluation of your own profile, and from an objective point of view, ask - Would this interest me?

 

If I knew nothing about this person, would I want to get to know them?

 

Take time, get to know them, show them you are truly interested in them.

Don't contact about business when you first meet them.
